Kotsovolos (Κωτσόβολος) is the leading electrical retail chain in Greece and a subsidiary of Dixons Carphone, Europe's leading specialist electrical and telecommunications retailer.  Kotsovolos operates 103 stores across Greece and Cyprus, employing over 2000 people and the company has also developed a rapidly growing franchise network.

As part of a pilot program to reduce operating costs, Kotsovolos invited Powerave SA our distribution partner in Greece to test COOLNOMIX® energy optimisation units within their MEGAstore in Erithraia, Athens. In all, 25 COOLNOMIX® units were installed on indoor components of their state-of-the-art Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) air-conditioning system.

Although VRF systems have a reputation for energy efficiency the results of this pilot trial in July and August 2018 demonstrated that COOLNOMIX® improved temperature stability while reducing Kotsovolos' air conditioning electricity costs. COOLNOMIX® delivered energy savings were 25.6% compared with a baseline established prior to the energy-saving tests.

Kotsovolos is now planning to roll out COOLNOMIX® to other retail outlets in their chain.
