Most air-conditioning systems waste energy because they needlessly overrun the unit’s compressor.
- In simple terms COOLNOMIX® is an AI-driven thermostat that seeks to optimize the usage of AC compressor running times, whilst primarily maintaining the desired temperature levels.
- This is achieved by installing two temperature sensors (return and cold supply points) to feed the information into the system.
- Energy consumption is dramatically reduced in all DX (direct expansion) refrigerant based AC’s by a 30% range.
- COOLNOMIX® is British designed and it’s patented technology is certified by Intertek-CE-FCC-RoHS-UL since 2012.
- COOLNOMIX® not only saves running costs but also helps our planet by reducing carbon emissions and delivering on CSR/ESG commitments.
JLL’s Pilot at Merck, Philippines
Trial Overview:
- 1st and 2nd successful trials conducted in 2022
- JLL conducted a third and final COOLNOMIX® COOLNOMIX® pilot at Merck, Philippines from the 3rd to the 31st of March 2023.
- Trial conducted on 43 VRF indoor units connected to 8 outdoor compressors.
- All aircon units were fitted with COOLNOMIX® and used under normal conditions.
- Energy savings were identified through:
- 4 weeks baseline starting from the 26th of April to the 26th of May 2022; and
- 4 weeks trial starting from the 3rd to the 31st of March 2023.
- Existing building power meters used to measure cumulative energy consumption of outdoor compressor.
Conclusion
From the parameters measured in this pilot the:
- Energy savings delivered by COOLNOMIX® is 21.1%;
- Annual cost savings delivered by COOLNOMIX®
is 𝑷𝑯𝑷 𝟏, 𝟐𝟓𝟕, 𝟗𝟑𝟑 (approx.USD 22,435) - Expected ROI is less than 9 months;
- Expected annual carbon reduction is 84 tons;
- Years 2 and onwards savings are at no investment cost (done in year 1); and
- Energy savings will help Merck meet their ESG commitments.
- COOLNOMIX® delivers significant energy savings at an attractive ROI.
- Annual COOLNOMIX® savings will increase, as worldwide energy charges
are expected to continue rising.
